![]() ![]() It has been/is used in shows such as American Horror Story, Arrow, Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead, The Flash, etc., and has been used in movies such as Star Wars, Avatar, La La Land, etc. Resolve has been the industry-standard software used for colour grading, and is on its way to being (and already has been by many) recognized as a viable alternative (to current software) for film editing as well. ![]() So long as you're downloading it from their actual website, I can say with almost complete certainty that there's nothing "fishy" about it, and if you have any concerns, they have a Discord server with members whom I'm sure would be happy to help. Their free version of the software offers more than what some other programs offer in their paid versions. ![]() There are probably far better methods out there, but my thumbnails aren't complicated enough to need anything more.DaVinci resolve is undoubtedly the best free video editor available, and it's already one of the world's most powerful NLEs (non-linear video editors). ![]() Until then HitFilm is by far the easiest editing software I've come across and I always recommend it to beginners.Īs for thumbnails, I use an app called LogoPit. Getting into more advanced editing is harder with HitFilm (because it's not really made for that imo) and once you want to do that more advanced editing, if you do ever want to, switching to Vegas or Premiere is probably what you'll want to do. Its very easy to grasp and within my second video I was comfortable with it. I tried both Davinci and HitFilm and I preferred HitFilm in pretty much every way. If not, or if you just don't want to bother with the higher learning curve (I don't blame you) I'd highly recommend HitFilm Express. As for editing, you'll probably eventually want to switch to something like Vegas Pro or Premiere Pro anyway and it's not easy unlearning the muscle memory you've garnered through another editing software, so I'd recommend using one of those two right off the bat if possible. ![]()
